“Green” Urban Village |

omebuilders in Issaquah Highlands, Washington,
an urban village 30 miles from downtown Seattle are meeting some of the highest standards in “green building.” This master-planned community requires that |
all homes are built to ENERGY STAR® certified standards and beyond—exceeding local building code requirements as part of the community’s “Built Green” program. These exclusive homes provide residents with greater comfort and health through improved indoor air quality, decreased water and energy use, and protection of the environment.

Bennett Homes provides unique features
that define luxury. |
The community itself has won over 18 environmental stewardship awards, in part, due to the quality of the homes being built.
Competition is intense for builders to further differentiate
their homes with unique features. Bennett Homes, which has won multiple "Builder
of the Year" awards from |
the Master Builders Association, looks for the subtle touches that provide that special feeling of upscale luxury.
“When people walk through our homes, they might not even be able to identify what’s different—they come away with the sentiment that our homes are just a little nicer,” said Todd Cliggott, Superintendent for Bennett Homes. “We pay attention to the littlest details.”
That’s why Courtesy Glass, a United Subcontractors business, has designed a master bath for Bennett Homes that says “luxury” in an understated way. Courtesy provides bathroom mirrors and glass shower enclosures for all Bennett

homes in Issaquah Highlands, which are typically designed with four bathrooms. And a quarter of the homes feature two master bedrooms and baths appealing to families where parents, children and grandparents share living space.
“We help put the finishing touch in homes,” said Chad Crebs, account manager at Courtesy Glass. “Bathrooms are a big part of homebuilding but are often overlooked.” Courtesy Glass has worked with Bennett to define bathroom packages for various home styles, making it easy to move quickly in the construction phase. And since Courtesy Glass fabricates all of its mirrors and shower enclosures, it’s easy to respond quickly to special customization requests that homeowners may have.
